RE: Formal complaint of unauthorised tipping and burning with the S106/Flood Plain Area, Scotts Moor, Bradiford.
This Formal complaint is in relation to activity that took place on Monday 8th December 2008. This activity commenced at approximately 09.10 hrs and continued to late afternoon on the same day. This involved the use of chain saws and other equipment to clear undergrowth and to fell small trees within the S106 Area.
At midday a huge bonfire was started to burn this material up at the eastern end of the S106 area. Due to the inclement weather conditions of the day, the smoke from this bonfire descended to ground level and covered the whole of the Bradiford valley area from the site of the burning to Humes Farm and beyond.
We have documented this activity described above with ground photographs.
We also bring to your attention that on the following day, Tuesday 9th December 2008 the Environment Agency had to attend to a blockage of the Flood Defence Scheme which required the use of mechanical equipment to remove substantial amounts of spry and small branches etc.
