Members of the Group met yesterday to discuss the current state of affairs following our meeting on Friday. Members find it extremely hard to believe that you, as our Member of Parliament, are unable to intervene where the local democratic process has so clearly broken down facilitating control of planning issues by what can only be described as an inner-sanctum. As you are aware, this situation continues to dominate the decision-making process in North Devon and it seems from what you said on Friday, that you are not entirely ignorant of its existence or of its disastrous effect on public confidence
